Tree Dressing week
Usually just a day we decided to stretch this artistic event over the whole week.
The Trust approached local schools to join in and celebrate National Tree day, an annual event that occurs all over the country to give thanks and draw attention to the trees in the area.
Each school chose a theme loosly based on the seasons as the trees on the estate are a calendar for us to watch the running of the seasons on.
Chivenor Junior School chose winter and created a storm for their tree, complete with snow and icicles.
The pupils of St Gerards Junior school chose to represent spring as a golden phoenix, rising among the branches. Each golden feather was individually cut, a great feat of craft.
Pupils from Castle Vale Comprehensive School decorated several smaller trees with lots of colour and sparkle on kites and fish!
For autumn Pegasus Junior school gave us lots of ripe papier mache fruit and fabric leaves.
The decorations were up for a week in centre park and survived the harsh weather well.
